How To Use

If you are taking Aldomet to treat hypertension, then the right adult dose will be a 250mg tablet twice or thrice a day. If being given intravenously, the dose will be 250 to 500mg for thirty to sixty minutes after every six hours. Taking more than 3g per day is not allowed.

The right maintenance dose is 500mg to 2g two to four times a day.  If being used to manage a hypertensive emergency, the best dose is 250 to 500mg IV given over thirty to sixty minutes every six hours. Only a maximum dose of 1g every six hours or 4 grams per day is allowed.
