Atripla Information

Atripla is an antiviral medicine. It is a combination drug containing efavirenz, emtricitabine and tenofovir. The three enable the drug to fight HIV and prevent it from replicating in your body cells. The three ingredients that make up this drug are all antiviral medications. They prevent HIV from causing AIDs. It doesn’t remove HIV or cure AIDs for good. Atripla should be used by adults and kids who are at least 12 years old and weigh 40kg or more.

How To Use

If you are an adult, take one Atripla tablet per day. It can work as a sole regimen or used with other HIV drugs.  When being used for non-occupational exposures to HIV, then take one tablet per day for 28 days. As for occupational exposure, take one tablet daily for 28 days. For pediatric use, a child who is 12 years old or older and weighs 40kg or over should take one tablet orally one time per day.
Atripla can be taken without food and with a glass of water. Frequent medical test might be needed too. However, when doing a drug-screening urine test, let the technician know that you are taking Atripla. Note that this virus can reawaken your Hepatitis B virus or worsen an active infection. You need frequent liver function tests to know if the virus is active again or if its infection is worsening.
