Caduet Information

Caduet has two powerful medicines: atorvastatin and amlodipine.  Atorvastatin is in a group of drugs known as HMG CoA reductase inhibitors. These are also called statins. Atorvastatins are known to reduce bad cholesterol (LDL) levels while boosting those of good cholesterol or HDL. On the other hand, amlodipine causes the blood vessels to relax. This helps to improve the blood flow and heart function.  Due to its potency, Caduet is mainly prescribed for treatment of hypertension or high blood pressure.
