Elestat Information

Elestat is an eye drop medication. It should be used only if your eyes have been checked by a doctor. Elestat contains epinastine, which is an antihistamine that decreases the effects of natural chemical called histamine. This chemical is responsible for allergy symptoms like itching, watery eyes, sneezing or runny nose. If an allergy is causing itchiness in your eyes, Elestat may be prescribed. If your irritation is being triggered by wearing contact glasses, your doctor will not give you Elestat.

How To Use

Elestat should be used exactly as the doctor prescribes it. To use, tilt your head back a little and pull down one of your lower eyelids. This will expose a small pocket. Next, hold the dropper above this eye with the tip looking down. Look up and away and squeeze out one drop into the tiny pocket.

Close the eye without blinking or squinting. Gently press the inner corner of this eye with your finger to stop the medication from flowing out. If using another eye drops medicine in the same eye, wait five minutes to apply. Use any other medicine after ten minutes.
