What is K Dur used for? 

It is used for the treatment and prevention of hypokalemia in patients with or without metabolic alkalosis where dietary management and diuretic dose reductions are insufficient in normalizing potassium levels within the body.

How does it work? 

This medication works by increasing intracellular potassium levels to the normal range to reduce symptoms of hypokalemia and prevent complications as potassium is an important cation within the body necessary for the transmission of nerve signals to many essential organs.

How do I take K Dur? 

This medication should be taken as directed by your physician, with food and a full glass of water to avoid the chance of stomach upset. Some tablets may be broken in half and/or dissolved in water, check with your pharmacist on which formulation you have to prevent administration errors.
