What Is Linzess?

Linzess is prescribed to patients who are dealing with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It helps manage chronic constipation that some patients deal with when they have IBS.

Linzess functions by increasing your intestinal fluid. The medication speeds up how quickly your food moves through your gut and bowel tract.

This medication can lessen some other symptoms associated with IBS. This can include abdominal discomfort, pain, bloating, and sensations of incomplete bowel movements.

Patients who use a feeding tube or have difficulty swallowing can take Linzess. Don't crush or chew the capsule - make sure you swallow it whole. That's because the medication is found on the surface of the beads inside the medication.

How Much Does Linzess Cost?

The cost of getting this medication can be quite steep, especially since there isn't a lower-cost generic option available. Most people pay around $552.61 when filling their prescriptions at a pharmacy in the United States. Our customers pay about $160.00 for their Linzess prescription when they order with Canadian Pharmacy Online.

Frequently Asked Questions

When Should I Take Linzess?

Many healthcare providers recommend taking Linzess on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before you eat a meal. The great thing about Linzess is you only need to take it once a day at the same time each day.

How Long Does It Take To Go Into Effect?

Many patients notice changes in their constipation levels around seven days after they start taking Linzess. Those dealing with IBS-C reported feeling relief from their bloating, discomfort, and stomach pain within a week. Taking Linzess each day will continue to improve your stomach-related issues over time.

It starts to work through your intestines to help with your pain and constipation. It doesn't get absorbed into your system like other medications can. Linzess can begin to get broken down by your intestines around 60 minutes after taking your dose.
