Exforge HCT is a combination prescription-only medication. It has three medicines, namely amlodipine, hydrochlorothiazide and valsartan. Amlodipine is a type of medicine called calcium channel blocker and its work is to relax and widen blood vessels. This also leads to improved blood circulation. Hydrochlorothiazide is a water pill that is used to keep the body from taking in too much salt as this can lead to edema. Valsartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist. It works by preventing the blood vessels from getting narrow. This helps to lower blood pressure and enhance blood circulation.
